Taiwan is mostly an industrialized country but the peoples living standards/conditions are varied. The economic crisis of 2008 affected everyone, but it seems that the the country is making progress.

Culture in Taiwan is somewhat similar to the US. Everyone has a cell phone. The internet is very popular. They produce their own Hip-hop artists but also listen to artists from the US like Eminem. They claim to have the highest density of 7-Eleven stores per person in the world.
And of course they can enjoy a BigMac too!
